Kidogo Institute's 2008 Art Program has been designed to cater for individuals who are interested in the possibility of being career artists. All the courses we offer have been designed to give you the foundations for a career as a professional artist and/or designer.
Whereas other colleges and institutions may focus on craft and hobbyist courses, or are biased towards conceptual art processes, KIDOGO INSTITUTE has positioned itself to be the main art school in Perth region delivering courses in strong drawing and painting techniques, similar to the Fine Art courses of art colleges in Europe.
KIDOGO INSTITUTE is a Registered Training Organisation. Students can undertake a Cert III or Cert IV in Art & Design at Kidogo Arthouse in Fremantle in a supportive environment, which looks after each individual. Kidogo Arthouse is a heritage building which sits on the beach in Fremantle, and has possible the best-located art studios in the world. The classroom windows open onto the sparkling Indian Ocean. Dolphins swim into the shore daily throughout the summer. Students can take a swim during their class breaks.
In 2008, Kidogo Institute will offer only 18 places
to individuals who wish to enrol in its Cert III or Cert IV in Art & Design. To gain a place on this unique course, you need to make an appointment for an interview with Kidogo Institute's Director, and professional artist, Joanna Robertson.
Nationally Recognised Training Certificate IV Course fees cost $8,800 and a student can expect to complete the requirements of the course over 9 months attending approximately 4 - 5 (3-hour) classes per week. Students will be expected to be self motivated and to develop projects out of class time. The reward for each students successfully completing their Cert IV course in Art & Design at Kidogo Arthouse, is the experience of learning for interesting artists and discovering the buzz of making better designs and paintings than you ever thought possible.
KIDOGO ARTHOUSE is a living, bustling art centre. As well as having two busy galleries, Kidogo Arthouse is a popular venue for musicians, singer-songwriters, poets and authors to stage performances. Our art students will get to meet, observe, learn from and be involved in working along side professional artists in one of Perth's busiest art venues.
